Rock Harbor Lodge

Rock Harbor Lodge offers groups numerous excursions and cruises by boat. The M.V. Sandy makes daily excursions to scenic Isle Royale ports of call and Park Rangers accompany many of these tours. Scheduled tours vary by day and are scheduled based on reservations, dependent on weather. Standard offerings include cruises to Passage Island, Hidden Lake and Lookout Louise, Raspberry Island, Minong Mine, Edisen Fishery and Rock Harbor Lighthouse. Customized excursions can be arranged to accommodate your group's specific interests.

You can explore the locations of ship wrecks caused by ferocious Lake Superior storms, the many lighthouses that dot the Islands, or arrange for a fishing charter where you'll catch some of the finest lake trout in the Great Lakes. Hiking and exploration are the underpinnings of a trip to Isle Royale. Cars or motor vehicles are not allowed on the island, so your group will enjoy reconnecting with Mother Nature on foot in wilderness environments unlike any most of them have ever experienced.

It is not unusual to see moose grazing in the shallows of the bays or a family of fox playing in the twilight. Rock Harbor and Tobin Harbor host incomparable gatherings of loons. The islands are covered with lush vegetation and wild flowers blooming throughout the summer. The shore line is rugged and beautiful—the perfect setting to experience the solitude lacking in today's frenetic lifestyles.
