Chisos Mountains Lodge is located in the Chisos Mountains of Big Bend National Park, and is the only in-park lodging. The Civilian Conservation Corp built the Lost Mine Trail, a store, and four stone and adobe cottages--still enjoyed today, often by repeat guests. Four different room types are available with 72 guest rooms in total. Enjoy three hearty meals on site at Chisos Mountains Lodge Restaurant and browse the Lodge's unique gift shop. The Lodge complex features a well-stocked convenience and camp store, the Chisos Basin Visitor Center and ample free parking. At nearly a mile above sea level, the Lodgelocation serves as trail head for mountain hikes--Window View Trail and the Lost Mine Trail, to name a couple. Deer, javelina, raccoon, birds and gray fox may be spotted from the Resort's large outdoor patio. Evening star gazing of the Park's famous dark skies is also popular; check calendars for Ranger-led outings. Guests can arrange to take a variety of tours offered by Big Bend Overland Tours at the Lodge's front desk.
